Almost time for NaNo!!

OMG! I am sooooooooo excited. Nano starts soon and I can't wait. I will be posting the NaNo badge on the blog soon, but to all of those who want a paper tracker for NaNo, here is one that I really like. I liked being able to scratch off my daily counts - it was really helpful.

I am going to try something different this year. Last year, I changed my plot about 3 days before nano began. I still won, but I haven't finished the novel yet. This year, I want to have a bit of an outline so I can actually finish the novel. I want to have a project that with a little editing, I could have a saleable novel.

So, my daughter has this audition...

And I think it's kinda weird. She is a damn cute girl, if I do say so myself, but this is too weird. We stopped at one of those audition places and lo and behold, she got a call. Now, I know that there will probably be hundreds of other kids there, but still.

Maybe the start of a college fund perhaps?

Menu Monday

In a desperate attempt to get back to a regular blog schedule, I am going to try and blog regularly this week. Then next week. and we shall see...

So, menu Monday. As I sat down to write this post, all i could think about was how i don't really cook during the week right now. i know that is TERRIBLE of me, but it's true. my kids eat chicken nuggets twice during the week and Mondays are McDonalds days in our house.

Now, before you all go off on me for feeding my kids crap, let me explain. I have serious time issues. My son, who is now in third grade, has daily homework, which when you combine that fact with ADD, makes for some loooooooong homework sessions. Plus I am working with my daughter, who is in Kindergarten, who is also on the road to an ADD diagnosis.

Pair this with the fact that I am staying too late at work so we aren't getting home till 5 at the earliest, the fact that the kids have to go to bed early because we are up at 5AM and the fact that I discovered that I have food allergies (to wheat and diary - and yes, that sucks for me) it really makes things difficult. I also have what I like to call "issues" so I have to make things as easy as I can for myself.

Now, I haven't done this post much justice based on it's title, but my menu goal for the week is to find a way to fit in cooking 3 days a week during the week.

ADD and Me

So, as I am writing this, I am coming off a VERY long week of teaching. That aside, this whole ADD thing has me a little down. As soon as I can afford it, I am going to get myself checked - hubby and I always joked that the kids got it from him, but I am thinking I may have it as well. I just can't keep track of any- look, a squirrel! Just kidding!

On a serious note, we are going to have the princess evaluated as well. As soon as school started, she began having attention issues. She wasn't being disruptive in class, she was just in la-la land, just like her brother was.

I would like to avoid meds if possible, but knowing how much it has helped our son, I won't hesitate to do it if it will help. We'll see...
